The MCP server does not appear in my client

Copy the current template from Portfobit Web, confirm the client supports remote HTTP MCP servers, and start a new conversation or restart the client if it requires a reload.

The agent says authentication is required

For an OAuth client, remove any old static Authorization header, run the client’s Portfobit login command again, and approve the required scope in the browser. Connector discovery requires account:read. For an API key compatibility client, confirm that the key is active and has the required scope.

An account was created but cannot be used

Check the automatic first sync. Account creation only records the connection and queues on_create; it does not validate every provider credential immediately.

The provider rejects the credential

Verify that the CEX credential is active, has the permissions required for the requested operation, and permits Portfobit’s current service egress IPs. For analysis, read permission is enough; trading and internal transfer require their respective CEX permissions. Withdrawals must remain disabled. Correct the CEX-side configuration, then run a manual sync if needed.

A protected action was rejected

Check the relevant Open API scope (trade:write or transfer:write), active Plus or Pro entitlement, account ownership and status, CEX permission, explicit confirmation, a fresh six-digit trading OTP, and the Idempotency-Key. A risk or provider-capability rejection does not mean the client should retry with different parameters without your review.

Manual sync is unavailable

Check that the current OAuth grant or API key has account:write, and whether you have reached the daily manual-sync limit of 20.

An activity-history import was rejected or failed

Starting an import requires Plus or Pro, activity:write, the matching activity read scope, an Idempotency-Key, and a valid bounded UTC range. Check whether another import for the same account and activity type is already active or whether the credential’s 168-unit UTC-day allowance is exhausted. A provider can also reject older ranges or rate-limit the task. A failed task does not resume automatically, but any facts written before failure remain available.
